BMCC: ENG 201 online class overview. What to expect?

Today I want to talk about my ENG 201 class that is finally over. Writing class is a great experience but could be quite intimidating for some students. ENG 201 is a second level writing class in BMCC, and it involves readings of short stories, drama and poetry and writing about what you've read. I took the class online via Blackboard, and I'd say I liked it despite my professor being a tough grader. Below, you will be able to my syllabus for Fall 2015. I hope it will help you be prepared for the upcoming class you're taking it anytime soon. Please note that syllabus may vary depending on a professor you're having, but you'll get a general idea.

The course had three major projects. The first one was a research paper. I confess I didn't upload my draft on time because I completely forgot. It seriously affected my grade (I lost 10 points), and my professor didn't comment on my draft resulting in some problems with my writing. I literally was hours (not days) late to submit my draft. My professor didn't take any late work and didn't provide any extra credit assignments, so my grade suffered due to my mistake. My discussion boards were due every Tuesday, but the draft was due on Thursday, and I was unaware of it. I made a promise to finally get a student planner app on my computer to be reminded of all assignments I need to do. I bought IStudiez for Mac, will see how it performs next semester.
Another major assignment was to create a poetry project. We had many options to choose from and I chosen the option to choose a poem we didn't read in the class and to visually present it. It was a piece of cake using modern technology and my Mac's Keynote I created a beautiful presentation with a nice soundtrack. 20 points out of 20. Nice!

The third major assignment was to analyze a character from one of the dramas we were studying during the class. It wasn't a super difficult writing to me because my professor precisely stated what things about the character we have to talk about in our essay. I got 19.5 points out of 20.

Besides, we had discussion board writings every week, but they aren't very difficult and short, only about 250 words each. Some topics were interesting, others so-so but I did them all.
